There are specially designated ecological trails to point out local flora and fauna and to help you to find the most singular zones in each one of the villages. The trails are suitable to follow by foot, bicycle or horseback, and most of the rural lodges support and promote natural and ecological tourism. |

LA RIBERA AND PASTURES TRAIL |

Monastery of the Holy Trinity (Suesa) |
To the south of the municipality, the La Ribera and Pastures Trail follows the lay of the River Miera and winds down the river until the path opens up at the sandy river estuary that displays a rich, natural ecosystem. This route melds the transition between the River Cubas’ scenery and its mouth that drinks in the waters of the Cantabrian Sea, and the plains of green meadows that provide the most productive pastures in the area. While in Suesa, you can visit the Trinitarian Convent and the Hermitage of Carmen, and in Carriazo, you can discover the Hermitage of Saint Anthony and the Marquis’ Palace.. |
